Production

Getting short runs of your product made doesn’t have to break the bank.

We offer a PCB manufacturing and assembly service that allows you to get some hardware in your hands fast. With production partners in the UK, EU, and Asia, we can facilitate short-run production from one unit to 100.

When you need to manufacture 1000's of boards we can hand you over directly to our production partners and support you through the process.

Take a look at the technologies we use here.

1-10 units

In the early stages of development low quantities are key for iteration, testing, demonstration and marketing purposes.

We use 3D Printing, development boards or low volume custom electronics to give you everything you need to move to the next stage. All of this can be done in house to keep your costs down.

2

10-100 units

Typically used for early beta testing or pilots, we can create larger quantities to facilitate testing in the field.

This can range from precision 3D printing to CNC'd plastic enclosures and custom electronics housed within. We can also use 3D printed hard or silicone moulds to get as close as possible to your desired finish.

Depeding on your requirements this can be done in house or in collaboration with our production partners.

3

100-1,000 units

Looking at much larger batches for testing, these quantities require as close to final manufacturing methods as possible.

At this point DFM will optimise electronics and mechanical enclosures and enable both cost and value engineering to come into play.

As unit requirements grow, we would typically be working with manufacturing partners to ensure a smooth transition to commercial deployment.

Depending on quantities and requirements, production methods might range from 3D printing or silicone mould pouring to final tooling.

4

1,000-10,000 units

At this stage we would be working with our manufacturing partners to optimise processes and QMS.

Mechanical tooling would need to be completed if not already underway. Depending on budget, complexity and strategy, this might vary between Aluminium tooling or Steel.

Electronics will be fully optimised with jigs and processes optimised for efficient assembly and testing.

5

10,000+ units

At this stage, you're flying! We'd be able to support with any iterative changes, improvements and continue to work with the manufacturer to optimise the product, process and customer experience.

If not chosen already, steel tooling may be the way forward, comfortably giving you the room to scale here.
